Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of rye bread
  • 8 oz of corned beef
  • 8 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the Thousand Island dressing, mayonnaise, sour cream, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce to make the dressing.
  2. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Spread the dressing on one side of each slice of bread.
  4. Place 4 slices of bread, dressing-side down, in the skillet.
  5. On each slice of bread, add 1/4 cup of sauerkraut, 2 slices of corned beef, and 2 slices of Swiss cheese.
  6. Top each sandwich with a slice of bread, dressing-side up.
  7. Spread butter on the top of each sandwich.
  8. Cook the sandwiches for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted.
  9. Cut the sandwiches in half and serve.
